Founded in Kobe in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka, ASICS built much of its reputation on running footwear. The Gel-Venture series began life as an accessible trail runner, and the 1203A438 version reworks it for the street with the same rugged profile.
A multi-layered upper combines breathable mesh with synthetic overlays, and the ASICS stripes run along each side. GEL technology, which ASICS introduced in 1986, is placed in the rearfoot for impact absorption, while a lugged rubber outsole provides traction across mixed surfaces.
