The Adidas Samba Pony Tonal 'Wales Bonner Cream White' (2023) (IE0586) is a collaboration between adidas Originals and London-based designer Grace Wales Bonner, finished in a tonal cream with a pony hair upper. It reworks the classic Samba with richer materials and a monochrome palette.
Overview
The Samba began as an indoor football shoe in the mid-20th century and later became a terrace and street staple. Wales Bonner's partnership with adidas, which began in 2020, helped return the model to the spotlight, with each release drawing on her mix of sportswear and tailoring.
This version uses a cream pony hair upper with tonal leather 3-Stripes and overlays, keeping the colours close for a clean, single-tone look. Contrast stitching adds detail, co-branded adidas and Wales Bonner marks appear on the tongue and insole, and the traditional gum rubber outsole completes the Samba profile.
The cream tone and low profile pair well with tailored trousers, loose denim and knitwear. It suits Samba collectors and fans of Wales Bonner who want a more textured take on the model.
Every pair is authenticated by hand at PUSHAS, so you can shop with confidence.
Key Highlights
• Wales Bonner Collaboration: Designed with Grace Wales Bonner as part of her adidas Originals partnership.
• Pony Hair Upper: A textured cream pony hair upper replaces the usual smooth leather.
• Tonal 3-Stripes: Leather stripes and overlays match the upper for a monochrome finish.
• Gum Outsole: The classic Samba gum rubber sole provides grip and a vintage look.
