The Adidas Superstar 2 ‘Chinese New Year – Year of the Horse’ (2026) continues adidas’ longstanding tradition of honoring Lunar New Year through culturally inspired design, applied to one of the brand’s most enduring silhouettes. First introduced in 1969 as a performance basketball shoe and later embraced by street culture worldwide, the Superstar remains a cornerstone of adidas’ Originals lineup. This special edition elevates the classic Superstar 2 construction with celebratory details that pay tribute to the Year of the Horse, blending heritage sport DNA with festive symbolism.
Overview
The Adidas Superstar 2 ‘Chinese New Year – Year of the Horse’ (2026) retains the silhouette’s signature design language, including a premium leather upper and the instantly recognizable rubber shell toe. Traditional Chinese New Year color cues are thoughtfully integrated throughout the design, with celebratory red and metallic gold accents complementing the base construction. The Three Stripes branding appears along the lateral and medial sides, while adidas Originals detailing is featured on the tongue and heel tab.
The Superstar 2 build offers a padded tongue and collar for enhanced comfort, alongside a durable rubber cupsole that provides reliable traction. Commemorative Lunar New Year graphics and thematic detailing further distinguish this edition, reinforcing its place within adidas’ annual festive releases while preserving the timeless appeal that has defined the Superstar franchise for decades.
