Kihachiro Onitsuka founded ASICS in Kobe in 1949, and decades of running shoe development shaped the Gel-1130. The model borrows the look of the brand's late-2000s performance runners and repackages it as a lifestyle sneaker.
Its upper combines mesh with synthetic overlays, and silver detailing catches the light across the side panels. In the midsole, GEL cushioning helps absorb impact, a feature ASICS has used since 1986.
