The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro 'Som Tum' (IB6206-701) is a skate-ready Dunk named after the Thai green papaya salad, finished in warm tan and beige tones with bright red accents.
Overview
The Dunk first appeared in 1985 as a college basketball shoe before skateboarders adopted it for its flat sole and durable build. Nike SB launched in 2002 and reworked the Dunk Low with skate-specific upgrades, turning it into the label's signature model.
This pair uses a canvas and leather upper in food-inspired neutrals, with red details nodding to the chilli in the dish. As with other SB Dunk Low Pro models, it has a padded tongue and a Zoom Air unit in the insole for impact protection.
The flat cupsole gives good board feel for skating, and the earthy palette works well off the board too. It suits skaters and Dunk collectors who enjoy themed SB releases.
