The Nike MAG ‘Back to the Future’ (2011) is one of the most iconic and collectible sneakers ever created, bringing a piece of cinematic history into reality. Inspired by the futuristic footwear worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part II, this limited release captures the imagination of sneakerheads and film fans alike.
Overview
Faithfully recreating the design seen on-screen, the Nike MAG features a high-cut silhouette with a sleek grey upper, illuminated LED paneling, and futuristic detailing throughout. The shoe’s standout feature is its electroluminescent midsole and heel, powered by an internal rechargeable battery, delivering the signature glow that defined its appearance in the film.
Released in extremely limited quantities via charity auction, all proceeds from the 2011 drop supported the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, adding meaningful purpose to its cultural significance. While this version does not include the self-lacing technology introduced in later releases, it remains a landmark moment in sneaker innovation and storytelling.
