Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'CNY Year of the Horse' 2026 (commonly referred to as the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG ‘Chinese New Year’ (2026)) stands as a sophisticated and culturally thoughtful expression of Jordan Brand’s Lunar New Year series. Scheduled to release on February 17, 2026, this limited‑edition Air Jordan 1 Low OG seamlessly melds traditional celebration with contemporary sneaker design. Unlike louder colorways typical of holiday releases, the 2026 CNY edition uses texture, embroidery, and subtle symbolism to celebrate cultural heritage while preserving the clean, classic aesthetic of the AJ1 Low silhouette.
Overview
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG ‘Chinese New Year’ (2026) is anchored by a soft Football Grey canvas upper that lends a refined and wearable foundation to the design. Textural pony hair overlays on the Swoosh and heel subtly nod to the Lunar New Year’s Year of the Horse, offering tactile depth without overwhelming the composition. Across the toe box, meticulously executed floral embroidery introduces cultural motifs associated with renewal and prosperity, infusing the sneaker with symbolic richness that resonates with the seasonal theme. Cream‑tone laces and lining soften the palette, while a brown rubber outsole provides a vintage‑inspired finish that enhances versatility and everyday wear appeal. Traditional AJ1 signatures such as the Nike Air tongue tag and the embossed Wings logo on the heel anchor the design in Jordan Brand heritage. Inside the sneaker, a scroll featuring Chinese characters representing values like renewal, harmony, and good fortune offers an intimate thematic layer for the wearer, embodying the spirit of Lunar New Year celebration.
Key Highlights
• Lunar New Year Celebration: Commemorates the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse through culturally resonant design elements integrated into the classic Air Jordan 1 Low silhouette.
• Premium Material Mix: Combines soft Football Grey canvas with pony hair overlays and intricate floral embroidery for a textured, elevated aesthetic.
• Subtle Symbolism & Messaging: Includes a hidden scroll printed with Chinese characters conveying themes of renewal, harmony, and good luck, adding depth to the design language.
