The ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 'Black Lemon Spark' (2024) continues the revival of one of ASICS’ most iconic performance runners, bringing archival design language into today’s sneaker culture. First introduced in 2008, the Gel-Kayano 14 was the first model not designed by Toshikazu Kayano, yet it retained the series’ reputation for stability and cushioning. This 2024 colorway underscores the silhouette’s return with a striking contrast of dark and neon tones, bridging its running heritage with modern streetwear relevance.
Overview
The ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 'Black Lemon Spark' features a black mesh base, providing breathability and lightweight comfort, overlaid with glossy black synthetic panels that highlight the model’s layered construction. The shoe is energized by bold “Lemon Spark” accents that appear on the ASICS tiger stripes, heel detailing, and midsole highlights, offering a vivid contrast against the dark foundation. Silver metallic hits along the eyelets and side panels emphasize its tech-forward aesthetic, while the white midsole houses ASICS’ signature GEL cushioning, ensuring all-day comfort and impact protection. The combination of archival design with performance-driven engineering cements the Gel-Kayano 14 as both a lifestyle staple and a technical runner.
Key Highlights
• Striking 'Black Lemon Spark' Palette: Bold neon yellow accents energize the dark black base, creating a high-contrast look that resonates in both athletic and casual settings.
• Heritage Meets Modernity: Originally launched in 2008, the Gel-Kayano 14 reemerges with retro running design language that aligns with current Y2K-inspired sneaker trends.
• Advanced Cushioning System: Equipped with ASICS GEL technology in the midsole for superior shock absorption and comfort.
