The ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 JJJJound 'White Blue' (2025) marks another milestone in the ongoing partnership between Montreal-based design studio JJJJound and Japanese performance footwear giant ASICS. Melding retro running aesthetics with minimalist sensibility, this latest collaboration delivers a clean, contemporary look rooted in technical performance heritage.
Overview
The 2025 iteration of the Gel-Kayano 14 sees JJJJound refining ASICS’ late-2000s running icon with a subtle yet impactful palette. A crisp "White" mesh base sets the stage, complemented by layered silver synthetic overlays that pay homage to the model’s original design. The key differentiator lies in the muted blue accents—most notably on the ASICS Tiger Stripes and heel detailing—offering a restrained pop of color consistent with JJJJound’s signature design ethos. The co-branded insole, understated JJJJound logo on the lateral heel, and preserved Gel cushioning system provide both aesthetic distinction and performance-grade comfort. Anchored by a sculpted EVA midsole and a durable rubber outsole, this release bridges archival tech with contemporary streetwear sensibility, embodying JJJJound’s mantra of refined utility.
Key Highlights
• Collaboration with JJJJound: Builds on previous successful projects between JJJJound and ASICS, known for their minimalist and timeless design philosophy.
• Heritage-Driven Design: Retains the original tooling and silhouette of the Gel-Kayano 14, a model first released in 2008, emphasizing retro running aesthetics.
• Subtle 'White Blue' Colorway: Features a clean white mesh base, layered silver accents, and tasteful blue highlights on the ASICS stripes and heel branding.
