Do Air Force 1s run big? Nike says go half a size down. The full AF1 chart with US, women's, Youth, UK, EU and foot length, fit advice by cut, and the AF1 sizes buyable at PUSHAS right now.
Updated 22 September 2026 — the centimetre column re-derived from Nike's published foot-length figures, a UK column and a box-label column added, the size calculator rebuilt as a lookup keyed to the chart on this page, and every live listing and buyable size re-read today.
The Air Force 1 is one of the most-worn sneakers Nike makes, and one of the most commonly mis-sized. The 'Pegasus Pack Phantom' is also one of the most in-demand pairs on PUSHAS right now.
The short answer: Air Force 1s run big. The toe box is roomy and the leather stretches as it breaks in, so Nike's own recommendation is to take half a size smaller than your usual Nike size. Wide-footed wearers should stay true to size.
PUSHAS, the global marketplace for authenticated hype sneakers, streetwear and collectibles, carries the Air Force 1 in men's and women's sizing — so once this guide has settled your size, you can see exactly what is buyable in it further down the page.

Measure your foot, find the closest figure in the Foot Length (cm) column, and read across — then apply the Air Force 1 adjustment in the next section. The chart gives you the number; the fit advice gives you the size to actually buy.
Yes. Air Force 1s run big, and the reason is structural rather than inconsistent: the toe box is unusually spacious, and the stitched leather upper relaxes and moulds to the foot as it breaks in. A pair that fits snugly out of the box will be comfortable in a fortnight; a pair that fits comfortably out of the box will feel loose by then.
Nike's own guidance is to select half a size smaller than your usual Nike shoe size. If you normally wear a US M10 in Nike, consider a US M9.5 in Air Force 1s.

The one clear exception is width. If you have wide feet, take your usual Nike size — the roomy toe box is doing useful work for you, and sizing down will cost you comfort rather than buying you a better fit.
There is no single correct Air Force 1 size — there are three defensible ones, and which is right depends on how you want them to sit and how you lace them.
Two smaller variables worth accounting for: thick socks effectively take up half a size, and an aftermarket insole will tighten the fit noticeably. If you are genuinely between sizes, the larger size plus a thicker sock or an insole is the more forgiving combination.
Not quite. The Low is the roomiest of the three. The Mid and the High sit tighter — the collar and the extra panelling reduce the volume around the ankle and instep, so a Mid or High in the same size will feel more contained than a Low.
In practice: if you have settled on half a size down in Lows and you find Mids or Highs uncomfortably tight, going true to size in the Mid or High is reasonable. Upper material matters too — patent and suede editions do not break in at the same rate as standard leather, so a suede pair will feel closer to its out-of-the-box fit for longer.
Nike's men's and women's sizing runs 1.5 sizes apart, and it is printed on the box: a US M7 is labelled a US W8.5. PUSHAS listings show both, in the form “US M 9 / W 10.5”, wherever the brand publishes a women's equivalent for that size, so you rarely have to convert anything yourself.
If you normally buy women's sizing and you are looking at a pair listed in men's, go down 1.5 sizes from your women's size. Going the other way, add 1.5. Then apply the Air Force 1 half-size-down adjustment on top.
If you are buying your first pair, or converting from another brand, measure rather than guess:
Take the longest distance from heel to longest toe in centimetres, find it in the Foot Length (cm) column of the chart above — not the CM / JP box-label column — then apply the Air Force 1 adjustment.
Knowing your size only helps if the pair is actually buyable in it. These are Air Force 1 colourways live at PUSHAS, with the sizes on the board as of 22 September 2026. Remember the guide above: half a size down from your usual Nike size for a secure fit, true to size if your feet are wide.

They run big. The toe box is roomy and the leather stretches as it breaks in, so Nike recommends taking half a size smaller than your usual Nike size. Wide-footed wearers should stay true to size.
For most people, yes. Half a size down gives the secure, locked-in fit the shoe is designed for, and it creases less. Go true to size if you have wide feet or want a deliberately relaxed fit, and a full size down only if you wear them barely laced as a slip-on.
A US M9.5. That follows Nike's own half-size-down guidance: half a size below your usual Nike size.
No. Mids and Highs fit tighter than the Low in the same size, because the collar and extra panelling reduce volume around the ankle and instep. If half a size down feels too tight in a Mid or High, go true to size in those cuts.
A US W9.5. Nike men's and women's sizing runs 1.5 sizes apart, and PUSHAS listings show both numbers wherever the brand publishes a women's equivalent.
A UK 8, before the Air Force 1 adjustment. Nike's UK number sits half a size below the US men's number up to a US men's 6.5, then a full size below it from a US men's 7, which is why UK 6 covers both a US men's 6.5 and a US men's 7 on the chart above.
A foot length of 26.2 cm. The number printed on the box for that size is 27, because Nike's CM/JP box label and actual foot length are two different figures. Measure your foot and size from the Foot Length (cm) column, then apply the half-size-down adjustment.
7Y. Nike's Big Kids footwear range runs from 3.5Y to 7Y, and a 7Y corresponds to a US men's 7. Anything above that is men's sizing, so there is no 8Y or larger.
Yes. The stitched leather upper relaxes and moulds to the foot over the first few weeks, which is exactly why a snug fit out of the box is the right starting point rather than a warning sign.

The Air Force 1 arrived in 1982 as Nike's first basketball shoe built with Nike Air, and forty-four years later it is still one of the most-worn sneakers the brand makes. Sizing it is simple once you know the rule: half a size down from your usual Nike size, true to size if your feet are wide, and a size tighter again in the Mid and High.
