The Nike Air Max Plus TN 'Black Red' is a modern interpretation of Sean McDowell’s revolutionary 1998 design, channeling the aggressive aesthetics and technical precision that made the silhouette a streetwear icon. This colorway delivers a bold visual punch through the pairing of jet-black tones with fiery red accents, reaffirming the model’s legacy in performance innovation and urban fashion culture.
Overview
The 'Black Red' edition retains the Nike Air Max Plus TN’s signature design elements—most notably the wavy TPU overlays inspired by palm fronds and Florida sunsets. A black mesh upper provides breathability while reinforcing the sneaker’s athletic DNA. Fiery red gradients glow beneath the cage and on the midfoot arch shank, delivering striking contrast against the dark backdrop. Tuned Air technology in the heel and forefoot delivers targeted cushioning for all-day comfort, while the TPU toe cap and heel counter offer enhanced durability. Red “TN Air” badges at the heel complete the look with unmistakable heritage branding. Blending performance tech with unmistakable attitude, this edition underscores why the Air Max Plus remains a staple on the streets.
Key Highlights
• Iconic Air Max Plus TN Silhouette: Features the original 1998 design with wavy TPU overlays, originally inspired by Florida’s wind-blown palm trees and ocean sunsets.
• Striking 'Black Red' Colorway: Black mesh upper contrasts sharply with red gradient detailing and accents, giving the sneaker a bold, aggressive edge.
• Tuned Air Cushioning: Incorporates Nike’s Tuned Air units in the heel and forefoot for responsive support and long-lasting comfort.
