Top 10 Nike Dunk Low Collaborations

Top 10 Nike Dunk Low Collaborations

Gustave Dawson

Nike Dunk Lows are an inescapable shoe today and due to that being the case, many collaborators have all joined in and pitched their creative vision for some truly masterly crafted sneakers.

The conceptual marriage of one’s unique vision and a blank canvas has taken the world by storm since the coming of art itself. Allowing expression to bleed through ordinary objects that ultimately reinvent them and make them seemingly brand new and a breath of fresh air. The same can be said for collaborations in the sneaker game and Nike Dunk Low collaborations are at the forefront through versatility and garnered hype overall.

In no particular order, here are our top 10:

1. Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Paris’

Red swoosh and a tan is all part of the plan, as these dunks are in the hall of fame for Nike Dunk Low collaborations. The design itself was influenced by the late French artist Bernard Buffet, as cut out panels of his work were placed on these dunks to create the dynamic and colorful overlays that make these sneakers one of a kind.

It would be a mistake to leave these sneakers off the list as they currently go for upwards of $80,000. If that doesn’t scream value, then I don’t know what does, as only 200 plus pairs of them were released in the early 2000s.

2. Nike SB Dunk Low ‘What the Dunk’

If the collage vision board of your dreams were a pair of sneakers, then look no further than the Nike SB Dunk Low What the Dunk. These sneakers are an all encompassing amalgamation of previous collaborations and designs all stitched together to create this all over the place master piece. 31 different SB Dunks to be exact, these sneakers might as well have the word “history” stitched on its tongue at this point. Part Cali, part white cement and blue stars to name a few, these dunks are the type to break the backboard with how much design power it has.

3. Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Concepts Purple Lobster’

Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low "Purple Lobster"

Not the typical color of a lobster that one might think, the Purple Lobster Dunks by Boston-based sneaker boutique Concepts are a royal edition on the list. Featuring a blue strap to mirror the straps that go around lobster claws, these nearly all purple crustaceans are accented by white laces and a black midsole. To get this sea delicacy however, you might have to save up your coins and even become stingy like Mr. Crabs, as these lobster Dunks charge a pretty penny.

Release date: December 14th, 2018

4. Travis Scott x Dunk Low Premium QS SB ‘Cactus Jack’

Travis Scott x Dunk Low Premium QS SB ‘Cactus Jack’

What would a collaboration between a world famous musical artist and a Nike SB Dunk Low look like? With the Travis Scott Dunk Low Premium QS SB Cactus Jack, that question is readily answered as these sneakers put the flame in La Flame. With a suede upper and paisley canvas, these shoes clean up nicely as the contrasting black and sail swoosh add the finishing touches. A certified hit sure to top the charts, these Travis Scott dunks are hopefully the catalyst to more musician collaborations in the future.

5. Off-White x Dunk Low ‘Pine Green’

Off-White x Nike Dunk Low Pine Green

Who said it wasn’t easy being green? Because these sneakers couldn’t disagree more with how much attention they get. The Off-White Pine green dunk lows are another collaboration shoe between Nike and the late great Virgil Abloh’s fashion label Off-White. These Off-White shoes feature a secondary lacing system and zip tie with a deconstructed design and Off-White’s signature text branding on the medial side on top of its white and dark green colorway.

6. Supreme x Dunk Low Pro SB ‘White Cement’

Source: @Sothebys

Another successful collaboration between Nike and Supreme, these specific White Cement sneakers are separate from the Jordan line of White Cement sneakers, but have a similar feel with its cement grey elephant print and white leather upper. Justifiably bearing a hefty price, Supreme and Nike continue to make magic with these sneakers as it won’t have you wondering how a rose can rise from the concrete.

Release date: September 1st, 2002

7. Nike Grateful Dead x Dunk Low SB ‘Green Bear’

Nike Grateful Dead x Dunk Low SB Green Bear

Furry and fuzzy are the words to describe these green heaters as the Grateful Dead have linked up with Nike to do something special. Preferring the green variation of the Nike Grateful Dead Dunk release, the ‘Green Bear’ features a green and fuzzy faux-fur upper with a jagged under Swoosh, along with a bear graphic located on the tongue. These green dunks bring a whole new flavor to the Dunk Lows as its presence is truly felt.

8. Nike Union LA x Dunk Low ‘Passport Pack Argon’

Nike Union LA x Dunk Low Passport Pack Argon

Ready to take you anywhere, these gems straight from the passport pack feature a blue and gold colorway, with a stitched Union Jack on the heel and a red passport stamp on the tongue. The Union LA Dunks have an unfinished trim to them that set them apart from other dunks aesthetically as both Nike Dunk and Union LA fans have something in common to cherish.

9. Jeff Staple x Dunk Low Pro SB ‘Pigeon’

With New York written all over, these Pigeon Dunks hold a special place in the grey dunks lane as not only being one of the most expensive, but also having the best design. Who thought pigeons in a New York park could turn into something this good? One of the most iconic Nike Dunk collabs of all time, Jeff Staple and Nike had sneakerheads camping out for the chance to get their hands on these birds.

Release date: February 22nd, 2005

10. Nike StrangeLove x Dunk Low SB ‘Valentines Day’

Truly for all the certified skater lovers out there, the Nike StrangeLove Dunks not only warm the heart, but the feet as well, as they feature pink velvet overlays with a red velvet swoosh and heart-shaped logo on the heel. A welcomed collaboration between Nike and StrangeLove Skateboards, these are the red dunks that you most certainly do not want to break, as your bank may break first when trying to get these one of a kind red and pink dunks.

Release date: February 8th, 2020

Dunk, after dunk, after dunk, these shoes just keep coming and there is no indication that they will slow down anytime soon. Covering everything from a pigeon in New York to Travis Scott himself, collab Nike Dunk Lows are certified and widely approved sneakers.

Even though a list is just simply that, it is not truly enough to show just how much appreciation Dunks garner in today’s society. They bring friends together, make circles tighter and give people confidence to do whatever it is they do all the while looking clean. Community is everything and we would like to know which Nike Dunk Low collabs are your favorite?

Hopefully there are some that were mentioned on the list, but if not, all is good, as there are enough unique pairs to go around.

But as always, stay true to self and continue to push for new heights as there's ain’t no telling just how far this thing can go.
