What makes an Ultra Premium Collection

Most Pokémon boxes are built around booster packs; an Ultra Premium Collection is built around a showpiece. Each box here leads with exclusive promo cards, from etched foil alternate art to metal cards. Most add a playmat, a deck box, card sleeves, a metal coin and damage-counter dice; the Celebrations box has a metal coin, an enamel pin and a player's guide instead. Then come the packs, from 16 in the 151 box to 30 in each 30th Celebration box.

1. Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection

The Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection released on 14 November 2025 and is built around the blue-flamed Mega Charizard X. Inside are foil Mega Charizard X ex and Oricorio ex promo cards, 18 booster packs, a playmat, deck box, 65 card sleeves and a metal coin all in the Mega Charizard X design, six damage-counter dice and a Pokémon TCG Live code card.

2. Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection

Built for the Pokémon TCG's 25th anniversary and released in late 2021, the Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection is built around metal cards. It holds two commemorative metal cards recreating Base Set Pikachu and Charizard, gold Pikachu V and Poké Ball promo cards, a Charizard and Pikachu enamel pin, a metal coin, 17 Celebrations booster packs, eight further booster packs and a player's guide.

No box here is more focused on the history of the Pokémon TCG, which makes it the anniversary piece for anyone who opened Base Set the first time around.

3. Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra-Premium Collection

Scarlet & Violet 151 brings together all 151 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, in Pokédex order. The 151 Ultra-Premium Collection followed on 6 October 2023, two weeks after the set, and it is all about Mew: a hyper rare metal Mew ex card with etching, a special illustration rare Mew ex promo, an illustration rare Mewtwo promo, a stitched-edge Mew playmat, a Mew coin and 16 booster packs.

The etched metal Mew ex echoes the metal Pikachu and Charizard from Celebrations, so the two boxes make a natural pair on a shelf.

4. 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection Night

The 30th Celebration boxes hold the most packs on this list: each has 29 30th Celebration booster packs plus one 30th Celebration Classic Collection booster pack. The Night version pairs a foil Pikachu ex promo with a foil Umbreon ex promo, adds an Umbreon metal coin alongside the playmat, sleeves, deck box and dice. The official English release date is 6 November 2026.

5. 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection Day

6. Sword & Shield Ultra-Premium Collection Charizard

Released on 28 October 2022, the Sword & Shield Ultra-Premium Collection Charizard is a Sword & Shield era box built around Charizard. Its three etched foil promos, Charizard V, Charizard VMAX and Charizard VSTAR, all carry alternate artwork. Around them sit a Gigantamax Charizard playmat, sleeves and metal coin, metal dice and condition markers, an acrylic VSTAR marker and 16 Sword & Shield series booster packs.

Its six damage-counter dice and two condition markers are metal rather than plastic.

7. Team Rocket's Moltres ex Ultra-Premium Collection

The Team Rocket's Moltres ex Ultra-Premium Collection was released in November 2025 and is built around Team Rocket. It includes three foil Team Rocket's Moltres ex cards, 18 booster packs, a Team Rocket playmat and deck box, a metallic coin, dice and condition markers.

It is the only box on this list built around Team Rocket.
