Nine regions, three series and new Illustration Rare-style promos of every region's first partner Pokémon: here is what sits inside each First Partner Illustration Collection.
The Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection is a three-part 2026 line built for Pokémon's 30th anniversary: Series 1 covers the first partner Pokémon of Kanto, Sinnoh and Alola, Series 2 covers Johto, Unova and Galar, and Series 3 covers Hoenn, Kalos and Paldea. Every box pairs a special pack of three Illustration Rare-style starter promos with two booster packs and a sticker sheet.
The Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 is live now in the Pokémon trading cards and collectibles range at PUSHAS, alongside the other two series, and every box is sealed and authenticated by hand. Below is how the line works, what sits inside each box and which starters belong to which series.
The Pokémon Company rolled out the First Partner Illustration Collection as three series across 2026 to mark 30 years of Pokémon, with each series taking three regions so that all nine regions are covered by the time the line is complete. The theme is the bond between a Trainer and their first partner Pokémon.
The main feature is the promo cards. They are Illustration Rare-style cards with full-card artwork. The backgrounds show locations and items from each Pokémon's home region, and the three cards from one region share a matching design, so they form a set when placed side by side in a binder or display frame.
All three series share the same format, which keeps the line easy to follow:
Each special pack holds three of the nine promos in its series, so collecting all nine promos from one series means opening more than one box.
The Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 1 opened the line in March 2026. It pairs the original Kanto starters with the Sinnoh and Alola trios, spanning the first generation, the fourth and the seventh. It is the series with the Kanto starters from the original games.
Series 2 released on 19 June 2026 and moves on to Johto, Unova and Galar, the second, fifth and eighth generations. It keeps the same box structure as Series 1, with a special pack of three promos, two booster packs and a sticker sheet. It suits fans who started with the Johto games or with Sword and Shield.
The Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 3 completed the set of regions on 7 August 2026 with Hoenn, Kalos and Paldea, the third, sixth and ninth generations. With Paldea included, the line runs up to the Scarlet and Violet era.
Every series uses the same format, and the regional trios suit nine-card binder pages or a three-card frame per region. Any series also makes a straightforward gift for someone whose first partner you know. For more on sealed gifting, see our guide to the best Pokémon TCG gifts for Christmas 2026.
