sacai doubled everything on the Nike Blazer Mid, and the layered Swooshes made it one of the defining collaborations of 2019.
The sacai x Nike Blazer Mid joins Nike’s court classic with the Japanese design house sacai. Its double-stacked details, led by the signature layered Swooshes, made it one of the most talked-about collaborations of 2019.

The Blazer is one of Nike’s staple silhouettes: a clean, mid-top court shoe with a long history on and off the court. sacai, the Japanese design house, is known for taking familiar garments and pieces and combining them in unexpected ways.
Put the two together and you get the sacai x Nike Blazer Mid. In 2019, sacai collaborations swept through the sneaker scene, and the Blazer was a big part of that moment. It quickly became one of the pairs sneakerheads searched for most.
sacai’s approach is to layer. Instead of redesigning the Blazer from scratch, the collaboration takes its familiar elements and doubles them up, so the shoe reads as two Blazers merged into one.
The signature detail is the layered Swoosh. Two Swooshes sit on top of each other on the side panel, offset just enough that you see both. It is the detail that makes the shoe recognisable from across the room and the one most people mention first.
The doubling continues through the rest of the shoe, with stacked tongues and layered details that give the classic Blazer outline a fuller, more sculpted shape. The result is out of left field, yet it still looks objectively good. That is the line sacai walks so well: the design is bold enough to start a conversation and balanced enough to wear every day.
This is also why the shoe has lasted. Some collaborations live on hype alone. The sacai Blazer has a strong design at its core, and that keeps it relevant long after the release-day excitement has faded.
The sacai Blazer arrived at a moment when sneakerheads were looking for something new. Familiar silhouettes were everywhere, and sacai showed how much character a classic shape could gain by being layered instead of replaced.
It helped put the Blazer back at the centre of the conversation and introduced the silhouette to a new generation of sneakerheads. We do not expect tastes to move away from it any time soon. The doubled-up look has become one of the defining design ideas of its era.
Because the shoe has so much going on, it works best when the rest of the outfit gives it room.
Keep the trousers clean. Straight or slightly tapered trousers that sit just on top of the collar show off the stacked details without hiding them. Very wide trousers tend to swallow a mid-top.
Let the layers be the statement. A plain tee, a simple knit or an overshirt in a neutral colour lets the doubled Swooshes do the talking.
Echo the design idea. sacai is a fashion label built on layering, so a layered outfit, such as a hoodie under a coat or a shirt under a knit, feels like a natural match.
Mind the proportions. The layered build gives the shoe more visual weight than a standard Blazer. Cropped or rolled hems balance it well, and shorts work in warmer months if you want the full silhouette on show.
The sacai x Nike Blazer Mid is a clear example of how a strong collaborator can give a classic new life. View the sacai Blazers at PUSHAS, where every pair is authenticated by hand.
