Canon announced the PowerShot G7 X Mark III in July 2019 as an update to its G-series compacts, aimed at photographers and video creators who want a pocketable camera. It brought wireless live streaming to YouTube and vertical video support for social platforms to the G7 X line.
The G7 X Mark III uses a 20.1-megapixel 1.0-inch stacked CMOS sensor with Canon's DIGIC 8 processor. The 24 to 100mm equivalent 4.2x optical zoom lens opens to f/1.8 to f/2.8 and uses lens-shift image stabilisation. It records 4K at up to 30p without a crop and Full HD at up to 120p, and shoots up to 20 frames per second.
A 3.0-inch tilting touchscreen, a 3.5mm microphone input, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth make the black G7 X Mark III a practical vlogging camera. At about 304g with battery and card, it suits travel, everyday shooting and creators who want better image quality than a phone in a compact body.
