The Nike Blazer Mid 'Off-White' (2017) stands as a monumental collaboration between Nike and Virgil Abloh, encapsulating the essence of deconstructed design and streetwear innovation. Part of Abloh's acclaimed "The Ten" collection, this sneaker reimagines the classic Blazer silhouette with a fresh, avant-garde approach that has become a hallmark of his Off-White brand. The release of this model marked a pivotal moment in sneaker culture, merging high fashion with street sensibilities, and solidifying the Blazer as a must-have for collectors and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Overview
The Nike Blazer Mid 'Off-White' (2017) features a deconstructed aesthetic, with exposed foam, stitched-on Swooshes, and industrial-style text on the medial side, reflecting Abloh's signature design language. The shoe's upper is composed of a mix of leather, suede, and mesh, providing both durability and texture contrast. A standout detail is the oversized, exaggerated Swoosh that extends to the midsole, further emphasizing the deconstructed theme. The shoe is finished with Abloh's signature zip tie in red, adding a distinctive touch to this already iconic design. Each element of the Blazer Mid 'Off-White' is meticulously crafted, ensuring that the sneaker not only serves as a fashion statement but also as a symbol of innovation in design.
