The New Balance 57/40 'Grey Day' (2021) celebrates the brand’s storied heritage while offering a contemporary reinterpretation of its classic silhouettes. Designed as part of New Balance’s annual Grey Day celebration, this model blends the retro charm of the 574 with modernized elements from the 57/40 line, resulting in a versatile sneaker that honors tradition while appealing to today’s streetwear and lifestyle audiences.
Overview
The sneaker features a layered upper crafted from premium grey suede, nubuck, and mesh, creating a dynamic tonal palette that emphasizes texture and depth. Reflective silver accents highlight the "N" logo, heel, and tongue branding, enhancing visibility and lending a modern edge. The midsole combines a traditional ENCAP cushioning system with an elevated 57/40 design, offering both comfort and style for all-day wear. Finished with a grey rubber outsole for durable traction, the 'Grey Day' iteration seamlessly fuses classic New Balance design cues with contemporary aesthetics, making it a must-have for collectors and casual wearers alike.
