The Nike Kobe 6 Protro 'Grinch' (CW2190-300) is the 2020 Protro return of the Kobe 6 colourway Kobe Bryant wore on Christmas Day 2010. Released on 24 December 2020, it brings back the all-over Green Apple upper with its raised, scale-like texture.
Overview
Bryant debuted the Grinch in the Lakers' Christmas Day 2010 game against the Miami Heat, and the colourway became one of the most recognisable shoes of his signature line. It has since inspired numerous colourways and customs, and the 2020 Protro marked its tenth anniversary.
The Kobe 6 Protro Grinch comes in the official Green Apple/Volt-Crimson-Black colourway. The textured green upper is broken up by red accents on the laces, Kobe's logo and his signature, on a Protro build. The Protro update brings Zoom Air cushioning, a softer heel foam and a sleeker last.
The Grinch is a statement shoe for collectors of Kobe's line, and it remains a court-ready performance basketball model. Off court, the bright green works best against black or neutral pieces.
