Pokémon 151: Every Product Explained, From Mini Tins to the UPC

Scarlet & Violet—151 is the Pokémon TCG set that puts all 151 original Kanto Pokémon on cards in Pokédex order. It released in English on 22 September 2023, and nine English products were built around it across two waves, from a two-pack mini tin up to the 16-pack Ultra-Premium Collection. This guide explains what is inside each one.

The easiest way in is the Scarlet & Violet 151 Mini Tin (Single Tin 2 Pack): two booster packs, a coin and an art card in a pocket-sized tin. What makes 151 different

Most Pokémon TCG sets introduce a new region or a new mechanic. 151 looks back instead. The set covers every Pokémon first discovered in Kanto, from Bulbasaur to Mew, laid out in Pokédex order. The English set runs to 207 cards: 165 in the main set plus 42 secret rares.

The English set includes 12 Pokémon ex, 16 illustration rares, seven special illustration rares, 16 ultra rare full-art etched cards and three hyper rare gold etched cards. It also brought back holographic basic Energy cards in the classic galaxy foil pattern.

The set started life in Japan as Pokémon Card 151, which released on 16 June 2023. The English version followed in September, and its product range was split into two waves: the Elite Trainer Boxes, Poster Collection, Binder Collection and Booster Bundle on 22 September, then the Ultra-Premium Collection, the two ex boxes and the mini tins on 6 October 2023.

Every Scarlet & Violet 151 product, explained

Mini Tin

The smallest sealed product in the range. Each tin holds two Scarlet & Violet—151 booster packs, a collectible coin and an art card that matches the tin artwork. Because the art card matches the tin, the pair makes a neat little display once the packs are open. It also works as a small gift for a young Kanto fan.

Ultra-Premium Collection

The flagship. The Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra Premium Collection is built around Mew and Mewtwo: 16 booster packs, a metal Mew ex card, a special illustration rare Mew ex promo, an illustration rare Mewtwo promo, a playmat, a deck box, a coin and gameplay accessories. For display, the metal card is the centrepiece and the Mew and Mewtwo promos sit naturally beside it.

Elite Trainer Box

The Scarlet & Violet 151 Elite Trainer Box is the player's box. It contains nine booster packs, a Snorlax promo card and the usual gameplay accessories. There was also a Pokémon Center version with 11 booster packs and two Snorlax promos. The box itself doubles as card storage once the packs are open.

Booster Bundle

Pure packs, nothing else. The Scarlet & Violet 151 6 Pack Booster Bundle contains six Scarlet & Violet—151 booster packs, with no promo or accessories. It is the most direct route to ripping the set.

Booster Bundle display case

For collectors who want to open in volume, the Scarlet & Violet 151 Display Case (10 Booster Bundle) is a sealed case of ten Booster Bundles, as the listing name says. It suits a group break or a long-term set build.

Poster Collection

The Scarlet & Violet 151 Poster Collection is the starter-friendly box: three booster packs, three promo cards featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, and a poster. The first partner promos make it an easy gift for anyone who started with the original Kanto games.

ex Box: Alakazam ex

The Scarlet & Violet 151 Collection (Alakazam ex) contains four booster packs, an Alakazam ex promo card and two foil promos featuring Kadabra and Abra, so the full evolution line arrives together.
