What made Scarlet & Violet different

Scarlet & Violet was the first Pokémon TCG era built on Generation IX and the Paldea region. Its opening set brought back Pokémon ex and added Tera Pokémon ex based on the Terastal phenomenon from the games. Across the series it added more ideas: Ancient and Future cards tied to Paradox Pokémon, the return of ACE SPEC Trainer cards, the Stellar Tera type, and Trainer's Pokémon tied to named characters.

Alongside the main sets ran special sets built for collectors, from the Kanto-focused 151 to the Shiny-packed Paldean Fates and the Eevee showcase Prismatic Evolutions.
