The Nike KD 4 ‘Aunt Pearl’ (2024) marks the much‑anticipated return of one of Kevin Durant’s most sentimental and historically significant signature basketball sneakers. Originally debuting as part of Durant’s 2012 line, the “Aunt Pearl” colorway has become more than just a shoe—it’s a yearly tribute honoring his late Aunt Pearl, whose influence helped shape Durant’s life and career. In 2024, Nike revisited this iconic design, faithfully reissuing the classic silhouette in its original vibrant palette as part of the Holiday 2024 lineup.
Overview
Releasing during October 2024, the Nike KD 4 ‘Aunt Pearl’ (style code HF9098‑600) brings back the beloved Pinkfire II/Black/Metallic Silver colorway that fans first embraced over a decade ago. The design is drenched in a hot pink hue across the mesh and synthetic upper, accented with contrasting black Swooshes on the midfoot strap and heel branding. Pearl‑inspired graphics adorn the ankle and heel, staying true to the theme that has become synonymous with Durant’s ongoing tribute series. Beneath the vibrant exterior, the KD 4 delivers performance‑ready features—including secure strap lockdown, responsive cushioning, and a low‑top silhouette built for on‑court agility—making it suitable both as a collector’s piece and as a functional basketball shoe.
Key Highlights
• Iconic Tribute to Aunt Pearl: Continues the heartfelt tradition first established in 2012 to honor Kevin Durant’s late aunt and support cancer awareness through its signature pink colorway and pearl motifs.
• Classic KD 4 Design: Faithfully reissued with its original Hot Pink, Black, and Metallic Silver palette, re‑presenting one of the most coveted shoes in the KD line.
• Performance Basketball Silhouette: Combines a low‑top fit with secure midfoot strap support and responsive cushioning, offering both heritage fashion appeal and functional on‑court versatility.
