Welcome back to The Assist, where we break down the hype and excitement around some of the coolest shoes on the market.
Today we're diving into a web of intrigue with the Jordan 1 'Next Chapter' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Let's swing right into it.
This shoe is a sequel to the first collaboration between the Jordan brand and Spider-Man, known as the Origin Story. Despite its modest release, the Origin Story shot up in popularity, much like Spider-Man soaring over the Manhattan skyline.
With the upcoming release of the new movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, this Jordan 1 sequel promises to do the same. With the growing interest in the multiverse and the endless possibilities it presents, this shoe could be one to watch.

In an echo of the multiverse concept, the Spider-Verse Jordans feature an array of materials, patterns, and colors across different panels, creating a shoe that looks like it has journeyed through a wormhole. From comic-book-style sections to the multicolor suede and leather patches, these kicks are a visual journey in themselves.
You'll find suede and nubuck panels throughout, coupled with leather around the toe. The collar and the eye stay are iridescent patent leather, which shimmers and changes in different lighting conditions.
The bright red patent leather near the toes is a bold, classic touch, while the tumbled leather gives the shoe a luxurious feel.
The nubuck, especially around the heel, has a dark patina, giving it an appealing, aged look. The black laces and collar add a dramatic contrast, while the classic nylon tongue sports an eye-catching red head tag.
One of the standout features is the digital 3D overlapping wings logo, which adds to the shoe's cutting-edge aesthetic.
But it's the sole that I'm most excited about. I've always loved soles that have a touch of translucency, letting in a bit of light. This Jordan has an iced out red sole, which lends a unique look to the shoe.
Given the delicate nature of suede and nubuck, I strongly suggest using a shoe protector to keep your pair looking fresh and pristine.
Any Jordan fan will recognize that this shoe is modeled after the iconic Chicago colorway. Over the years, this colorway has been endlessly restyled, remade, and revered by fans and the brand alike. And this pair, infused with the spirit of Spider-Man, is another fitting tribute.

Overall, I believe these are a fantastic addition to the Jordan lineup. Personally, I prefer these over the first rendition, the Origin Story.
