Nike P-6000 or ASICS Gel-1130: a Pegasus-derived runner and an ASICS stability shoe, compared on lineage, materials and styling.
The Nike P-6000 and the ASICS Gel-1130 are two retro runners with different roots. Nike builds the P-6000 on its Pegasus line with an early-2000s running look, while the Gel-1130 is an ASICS stability running shoe from 2008. Here is how they compare on lineage, materials, design and styling.
Our lead pair is the Nike P-6000 'Thunder Blue Pale Ivory', live now in the Nike P-6000 range at PUSHAS. Set against it is the ASICS Gel-1130 'White Cloud Grey'.
The P-6000 is a mash-up of Pegasus designs. Nike says its throwback design draws on the Nike Pegasus 25 and the Nike Pegasus 2006, and Complex describes the silhouette the same way, as pulling from those two chapters of Nike running history. Nike also frames the shoe as an early-2000s running style, and Complex agrees.
The Gel-1130 starts somewhere more specific. ASICS describes it as a stability running shoe from 2008, and Sneaker News likewise says it debuted in 2008 as a stability running sneaker. Complex also places its first release in 2008. So one shoe borrows from two Nike runners, and the other is a single ASICS model that began life as a stability runner.
Nike lists the P-6000 with a textile upper, genuine and synthetic leather overlays and foam cushioning. Highsnobiety describes the same mix from the outside: leather overlays over mesh, with a foam midsole underfoot. Both descriptions point to a mesh base with layered panels on top.

For the Gel-1130, Sneaker News and Complex both describe a mesh runner. The 'White Cloud Grey' pair shows that mesh in white and light grey, with silver overlays and black ASICS stripes on the side.
The 'Thunder Blue Pale Ivory' colourway combines deep navy-blue overlays with grey and silver mesh panels. The midsole is pale ivory, and the silver Swoosh has a reflective look in the photos.

The 'White Cloud Grey' Gel-1130 uses a lighter palette. White and light grey mesh sits under silver overlays, the ASICS stripes are black, and the off-white midsole carries grey. The P-6000 sets navy overlays against an ivory midsole; the Gel-1130 stays in white, grey, silver and black.

Try the navy and silver P-6000 with straight-leg denim or grey trousers. The white-and-grey Gel-1130 works with tapered trousers, shorts or a monochrome tracksuit. If you want a closer look at another ASICS runner, see our Gel-Venture 6 vs Gel-1130 comparison.
