Now Is The Best Time To Buy Your Yeezy 350 V2s

Justin Truong

Prices have fluctuated heavily in the past two months with the anticipation of and eventual re-release of the Zebra colourway.

Prices have now somewhat stablised for all Yeezy 350 V2s.

The PUSHAS Team has been getting a load of messages asking whether they should wait for prices to come down (like the Zebras did). Or, should they purchase the Yeezys now.

Now, you might say that we're biased in telling them to buy Yeezys. But hear me out. If they've come to us, we know that they are likely going to buy something. If we're honest to them, it's more likely that they're going to buy from us.

Even if they don't buy Yeezys, being honest will mean that they will more likely buy something else from us. What they buy doesn't really matter to us, and so we do strive to be as objective as possible. This is why we tell it to them like it is.

So we are honest when we give them this answer: we believe that now is the perfect time to purchase your Yeezys (especially the Zebras and the Creams) because they are actually underpriced.

These are our reasons why you should buy a pair of Deadstock Yeezy 350 V2s now:

1. Zebras & Creams are undervalued by the market

Warren Buffet's investment mantra is to: "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful."

It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that the Zebras and the Creams are VERY undervalued. Literally everyone is trying to offload and sell their Zebras and Creams. They're the cheapest of the V2s, even though they're definitely not the worst looking.

Many sneakerheads are attributing the price of these pairs to quantity. Which is a fair assessment. But quantity is not the only factor that should drive price.

One must examine the intrinsic value of the sneaker.

Just because quantity has increased (Australia arguably didn't even get that many pairs) does not necessarily mean price should go down that drastically. For the Zebras to go from the highest, to the 2nd lowest priced sneaker is - in our view - an overcorrection.

2. Existing colourways will not be re-released

If we look at the rumoured release of the Beluga 2.0, it looks like Adidas will be releasing variations of the current colourways rather than re-releasing existing colourways.

Our guess is that existing colourways will not get a re-release in the near future.

If the 350 V1 and the 750s' product lifespan is any indicator, they usually keep a silhouette alive for 1-2 years. Since the V2s were released in September 2016, we are nearing the end of the first year of their lifecycle.

We would postulate that another silhouette will be replacing the V2s in 2018 or 2019 at the latest. With the new silhouette introduced, the price of the existing V2s will only increase.

3. Deadstock pairs will only become rarer (and more expensive)

It's common sense. The longer a sneaker has been out on the market, the more people will wear them. This means Deadstock / New pairs will be harder to come by, thus driving up price.

We are already seeing this with the Belugas, and the earlier released V2s (Black/Red Stripe, Coppers, Olives, Oreos).

What many people aren't realising is that the price of deadstock pairs are all trending upwards. Even the Breds are starting to go up in price.

People aren't buying because they see the price as high, but this is actually going to be the cheapest they will be unless the colourways are re-released.

4. Yeezy 350 V2s have made sneaker history

It would be difficult to argue that the Yeezy 350 V2s have not changed the sneaker game. Prior to their release, celebrities would be seen rocking mainly Jordans.

Nowadays, you would be hardpressed to find the majority of celebrities in pop culture not rocking a pair of Yeezy 350 V2s.

Being so instrumental to sneaker culture in this decade, we feel that the Yeezy 350 V2s will always be cherished, and their value will only increase over time. This is regardless of whether they are re-released.

If you look at the Jordan Retro 1 Breds. The earlier iterations will always fetch a higher sale price than the newer ones (latest being 2016).

This trend will likely follow the Yeezys you buy now as well. Since they're the "original" Yeezy 350 V2s, they will command a higher asking price five, ten or even twenty years down the track.

Conclusion

If you find a cheap pair of Yeezy 350 V2s, jump on them. Our guess is that they're not going to stay at these prices for long. Of course, we could be wrong...

Do you think prices are going to rise? Or are they going to drop? Definitely let us know what you think in the comments below.
