The ASICS Gel-Kayano 20 'Piedmont Grey' is a tonal grey take on the 2013 stability runner that ASICS has brought back as a SportStyle silhouette. It comes in the Piedmont Grey/Piedmont Grey colourway, a single shade of grey across the upper, overlays and midsole.
Overview
The Gel-Kayano line is named after ASICS designer Toshikazu Kayano, and the twentieth edition first released in 2013. ASICS has reissued the Gel-Kayano 20 in a run of colourways, and the Gel-Kayano 20 Piedmont Grey is the most understated of them. It keeps the original's technical design in a colour that suits daily wear.
The upper uses breathable mesh with FluidFit technology for an adaptive fit, held in place by layered overlays that trace the model's early-2010s lines. GEL cushioning in the rearfoot and forefoot absorbs impact, and the Guidance Trusstic System adds stability through the midfoot.
The all-grey finish lets the paneling and layered construction do the work. It pairs with grey marle, black trackpants or technical outerwear, and suits anyone building a rotation of archival ASICS runners.
