The Nike Zoom Fly 'Undercover Gyakusou Ink' (2018) represents a bold collaboration between Nike and renowned Japanese designer Jun Takahashi of Undercover. This iteration of the Zoom Fly pushes the boundaries of performance footwear by blending cutting-edge technology with avant-garde aesthetics, catering to both athletes and streetwear enthusiasts. The sneaker is part of Takahashi's Gyakusou line, which is inspired by the concept of running as a form of spiritual freedom. The design combines Nike's commitment to innovation with Undercover's signature edgy style, resulting in a shoe that is as functional as it is fashionable.
Overview
The Nike Zoom Fly 'Undercover Gyakusou Ink' features a lightweight translucent upper that is both breathable and supportive, making it ideal for long-distance running. The "Ink" colorway is characterized by deep, moody tones of navy and black, with contrasting white Swooshes that add a striking visual element. Unique to this collaboration are the bold "GYAKUSOU" branding on the lateral side and the "RUNNING" text on the midsole, which underscore the shoe's dual-purpose design. The full-length carbon-infused nylon plate embedded within the midsole offers a responsive, propulsive feel, enhancing performance on the track or pavement. The ZoomX foam cushioning provides superior comfort, absorbing impact while delivering energy return with every stride.
Key Highlights
• Exclusive Collaboration: The shoe is part of the coveted Nike x Undercover Gyakusou collection, merging Nike’s performance-driven approach with Undercover’s high-fashion sensibilities.
• Advanced Technology: Equipped with a full-length carbon-infused nylon plate and ZoomX foam cushioning, the sneaker is designed to maximize speed and comfort.
• Distinctive Aesthetic: The deep "Ink" colorway and bold Gyakusou branding make this a standout piece in both athletic and casual wardrobes.
