The Puma Thunder Spectra 'Black' (2018) is a defining release from Puma's celebrated Thunder series, a silhouette that captured the resurgence of bold, chunky sneakers inspired by 1990s running footwear. Designed with exaggerated proportions and premium material layering, the Thunder Spectra blends fashion-forward aesthetics with everyday functionality. The 'Black' colourway delivers a versatile interpretation of the model, combining a predominantly black upper with carefully placed contrasting accents that highlight its sculpted design. With its oversized tooling, mixed-material construction and distinctive profile, the Puma Thunder Spectra remains one of the standout lifestyle sneakers of the late 2010s, appealing to both sneaker collectors and those seeking a statement everyday shoe.
Overview
Constructed from a combination of premium mesh, suede and leather, the Puma Thunder Spectra 'Black' (2018) offers a balance of breathability, durability and texture. The layered upper sits atop a thick IMEVA midsole, providing lightweight cushioning while reinforcing the sneaker's unmistakable chunky aesthetic. Signature Puma branding appears on the lateral side and tongue, complementing the clean yet dynamic design. The predominantly black palette makes the sneaker exceptionally versatile, while subtle contrasting details add depth without compromising its understated appeal. Inspired by vintage performance runners but reimagined for modern streetwear, the Thunder Spectra became one of Puma's flagship silhouettes during the global "dad shoe" trend. Authenticity is guaranteed with PUSHAS, where every pair is meticulously authenticated by our team of experts.
