Nike Field General ‘Year of the Horse’ Women’s (2026) ushers in a refined chapter of Nike’s Lunar New Year 2026 collection, marrying heritage gridiron aesthetics with symbolic cultural storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac, this edition reimagines the classic Field General silhouette with thoughtful detailing and premium materials that resonate with both sneaker enthusiasts and lifestyle wearers.
Overview
The Nike Field General ‘Year of the Horse’ for women (style code IQ1144‑022) is rooted in Nike’s retro athletic lineage, originally inspired by 1980s football training footwear. For 2026, Nike elevates this heritage model with a Soft Pearl and Neutral Olive leather upper that provides durability and a clean foundational aesthetic. Subtle design cues, like Pegasus‑inspired embroidery at the heel and intricate multicolor stitching on the brown suede Swoosh, nod to the horse motif without overwhelming the silhouette. A maroon sockliner and desert‑graphic tongue tag further enrich the thematic narrative, creating a cohesive story across the shoe. Underfoot, the classic nubby Waffle outsole delivers reliable grip and contributes to the vintage appeal that defines the Field General line. Released as part of Nike’s broader Year of the Horse lineup in Spring 2026, this women’s edition balances minimalist elegance with culturally inspired accents that appeal to both collectors and everyday wearers.
Key Highlights
• Lunar New Year 2026 Zodiac Theme: Celebrates the Year of the Horse with Pegasus‑inspired heel embroidery and narrative stitching that subtly reflects the zodiac symbol.
• Premium Leather and Suede Construction: Combines soft cream leather with brown suede overlays for a durable yet elevated look true to the Field General’s retro roots.
• Vintage‑Inspired Waffle Outsole: The grippy, nubby sole reinforces the throwback gridiron design while offering comfortable all‑day wearability.
