Rise of the Nike Dunk

Iconic is an understatement, as these sneakers are everywhere in just about any pop and general culture spaces. Originally released in 1985 as a basketball centric sneaker, hence its name, the Nike Dunk, the low variation has soared above the rest when it comes to the likes of even the Nike Dunk Highs. Along its progression, the Nike Dunk Low was also heavily intertwined with the skateboarding community and caught fire in the late 1980s and early 1990s as the eventual arrival of the Nike SB Dunks would soon come after.
